Shanghai’s Best Sports Bars For Watching World Cup

Whether it’s World Cup season or not, it’s always good to know where to go when you fancy watching some sport in Shanghai. Here are top 8 of the city’s best sports bars:

1. Big Bamboo

This multi-branch behemoth of a chain has locations all across town, from Jinqiao in Pudong to Jing’an and Hongqiao over in Puxi. Known as much for its friendly waitresses as for its wide selection of beers and big screens, ‘Boo (as it is affectionately called) is a mainstay among Shanghai sports bars.

2. The Spot

Tongren Lu used to be one of the seediest streets in town, but now that it’s been cleaned up, The Spot gets a chance to shine as one of Shanghai’s best sports bars. Their Sunday all-you-can-eat deal is a winner, and they often stay open late for important games.

3. The Bulldog

Since dropping “British” from its name a couple of years ago, the Bulldog bar has embraced international sport and become a firm favourite. Handily located near the Hengshan Lu bar street, it is stone’s throw from some of Shanghai’s best nightspots, and a good place to start off your evening with some sport. Two-for-one drink deals mean that it’s economical as well as fun.

4. The Beaver

The Beaver is less well-known than other bars on this list, which works in its favour when you want somewhere a bit quieter. Their beer list is impressive, and they have table football as well as screens, so you can play while you watch.

5. OZNZ

An oddly vowel-less name, but a great little bar. Located slightly off the beaten 축구 중계 화질 좋은곳  track in Changning District, OZNZ is still relatively new, but already attracts loyal sport fans. Their selection of bar games is another draw.

6. Oscar’s

One for the more discerning sports fan, Oscar’s sits just north of the Hengshan Road bar strip in a red-brick villa with a small patio at the side. Two floors, each with a bar, serve up a good selection of beers and spirits, and there is a pool table upstairs along with screens on both stories.

7. Park Tavern

At the Xujiahui end of Hengshan Road, the Park Tavern is yet another converted villa with an amazing terrace. Whether it’s rugby, soccer, tennis or cricket that floats your boat, Park Tavern’s big screens show them all.

8. Blue Frog

Like Big Bamboo, Blue Frog has branches all across town, from Xujiahui to the Daning Life Hub in Zhabei District. Nearly as famous for their great burgers as their beer and screens, Blue Frogs are a reliable choice to catch a game.
